Those of you that know us know that we already have a big family; in fact we have $1.75 worth of Courters (get it…). You’re also probably aware that we just got married and we are smack in the middle of Scott’s season and unfortunately my profession has no off season. So, to say that we are busy is a bit of an understatement, but we are blessed and we know it. In fact, we recently found out just how blessed we really are. Scott and I both knew that we wanted children and we’ve talked a lot about adoption. We always thought getting pregnant would take a while, that we’d have to “try” and do all that trying entails. We have had a front row seat to the painful struggle with infertility as we watched friends and family go through the journey towards babyhood. I guess somewhere inside both of us we just thought that would be our story too.
Ahh our story…..it’s a great story if we do say so ourselves. Boy meets girl, girl asks boy out, boy falls for girl and vice versa, you get the picture. We got married in paradise in June in the middle of Hurricane Alex and it was perfect. Okay, it was really just a tropical storm when it hit the Yucatan Peninsula, but “Hurricane” just sounds better. Back to the $1.75 we discussed earlier; only 50 cents worth of that walks on 2 legs, the rest are our 4 legged furry kids and we love them dearly. Well, little did we know that when we left the Yucatan Peninsula we were already working on 75 cents (as far as the humans go).
That’s right Courter number 3 will be here in March!!!!! We decided to start this blog, this way our friends and family can join us in this crazy journey and whatever comes next!
So here’s a Baby Courter update…..
~No, we are not going to find out the sex of the baby until delivery day & Scott will be in charge of revealing that precious information.
~Pregnancy hasn’t been too bad so far. Some killer headaches, a touch of morning sickness that was more like a hangover that lasted for weeks, some serious stupidity but that’s it.
~We’ve had 2 ultrasounds so far and the doctors say Baby Courter looks good. At the 1st ultrasound our little monkey was running….those little arms and legs were moving!! Guess he or she thought they were at practice with Daddy! At the 2nd ultrasound, monkey was just laying there, looking like it was sucking its thumb.
~We are 13 weeks and 4 days into this crazy adventure
This will not just be a pregnancy/baby blog even though that’s what started it. This will be a blog about all that’s going on with us and our growing family. A lot of miles separate us from most of our family and friends and this is the best way we could think of to lessen those miles. Thanks for reading and joining us as we go through this amazing time in our life!!
Aw, that is so great! Congratulations you guys! I had a hunch that was it Elizabeth!!! :) Enjoy every minute of it - all the yukiness will go away and once the baby is born, you'll totally forget about it. So, so happy for you guys!!!
